There's an IRC server on leftist.site now. Standard ports in use, 6667 for non-SSL and 6697 for SSL.

There are no services like nickserv or chanserv.

The server is InspIRCd version 2.0, and here is a list of the loaded modules:

<module name="m_sha265.so">
<module name="m_md5.so">
<module name="m_ssl_gnutls.so">
<module name="m_chghost.so">
<module name="m_hostchange.so">
<module name="m_connflood.so">
<module name="m_close.so">
<module name="m_conn_umodes.so">
<module name="m_conn_join.so">
<module name="m_dccallow.so">

Here is a list of all the available modules: https://wiki.inspircd.org/2.0/Modules, in case someone wants additional functionality on the server.

IRC is nothing but a drama magnet, I'll advice everyone to stay off it.

it could still be useful for anonymous live discussion if needed. if anyone needs to bring attention to something or needs support with the site.

But lets try to downplay it so it doesn't become a circlejerk. IRC circlejerks are the nastiest.

They can be.

That is why there are no services, you cannot register nicknames or channels. I'm hoping this allows the server to exist for communication only. Also, all hosts are hidden.

No, that wasn't me. I'd never use Telegram or suggest its use for several reasons:
- "Telegram's client-side code is open-source software but the source code for recent versions is not always immediately published,[18] whereas its server-side code is closed-source and proprietary."
- "developed by Telegram Messenger LLP, a privately held company registered in London, United Kingdom,[16] founded by the Russian entrepreneur Pavel Durov and his brother Nikolai."
- "Messages and media in Telegram are only client-server encrypted and stored on the servers by default.[22] The service provides end-to-end encryption for voice calls,[23] and optional end-to-end encrypted "secret" chats between two online users, yet not for groups or channels."
- "Telegram's security model has received notable criticism by cryptography experts. They criticized the general security model of permanently storing all contacts, messages and media together with their decryption keys on its servers by default and by not enabling end-to-end encryption for messages by default."
- "Cryptography experts have furthermore criticized Telegram's use of a custom-designed encryption protocol that has not been proven reliable and secure."
wikipedia.org/wiki/Telegram_(service)

Telegram is also working with the Iranian government to censor communications.
"Instead of blocking Telegram as a foreign social media platform and emigrating its users to another platform, we've been working with their administrators and agreed on five topics including sexual abuse, child abuse, violence, terrorism and anti-religious content to be blocked on this software, and so far 173, 000 instances of these topics have been shut down. Telegram activity included 10% of these issues, they have now dropped to 2%"

EDIT: Telegram also requires a phone number, which I am not comfortable sharing. Pretty sure that's how those scam call centers that try to make you install spyware get your phone number.
