What can we look forward to in the next four years?

- Annexation of the West Bank and increased violence in the occupied territories?

- US war with Iran?

- Further military action against Syria, especially after Trump recognised Golan Heights as Israeli?

Good luck US military in getting people to unironically go stage an invasion of Iran. The justification Pompeo is using doesn't even make any sense since he basically said Iran and Al-Qaeda are collaborating. A very absurd premise. I'm not sure if they can pull another "chemical weapons" meme on the US public at this point. I'm sure as hell not enlisting.

Netanyahu is basically staying in power by stoking perpetual war and fearmonger tactics, very fascist and definitely a slap in the face to all Jews regardless of whether they live in Israel or not. There always needs to be an extant Palestinian threat in order to keep people who are "afraid of terrorism" (AKA Arabs) at the polls. The "democratic" countries of this world are a joke.

Did you forget that Iran is secretly developing nuclear weapons (despite IEAE saying they aren'tWink? Also, Iran's Revolutionary Guard is a terrorist organisation and Iran is a sponsor of global terrorism. They have more than enough to warrant an invasion. They invaded other countries with much less pretext.

Totally agree. That is why every candidate in the election had to state that they are strong and will protect Israel, etc. Netanyahu has created an environment where him and his ilk can thrive.

Netanyahu doesn't want a two-state solution, and he doesn't want Arabs to become full citizens of Israel because Israel is a Jewish ethno-state. What is the logical conclusion here? That he will continue the policy of illegal expansion into Palestinian territory, displacing and killing them as they go. The international community has turned a blind eye to it, it seems, beside a few toothless UN resolutions that US vetoes every time.

Netanyahu failed to assemble a coalition, fresh Israeli elections scheduled for September.

He'll remain Prime Minister until then, but hopefully will be unable to pass any legislation.

Given how desperately he was trying to avoid this situation, hopefully he'll fare worse in the new elections.
