How to get more people on this forum [message #19] Fri, 18 January 2019 14:33 Go to next message

How should we get this site more noticed? What subreddits should we shill this site on, and how?
Also, the design is nice. Feels like a combination of 8chan and normal forums, although it could use a bit of modernization. By simply changing a few icons and squaring a few rounded borders, you could create a much nicer looking website. I shilled this on r/stupidpol, so we might get a few new users.
Anyway, reminder to crosspost links to here everywhere you go.

Since it's already been advertized on both /leftypol/ and /leftpol/, the last good place to try to hunt for users over on 8chan would probably be /marx/, though I doubt there is anyone on /marx/ besides probably Ismail who only uses /marx/. Although I don't really use Reddit, and when I do I only lurk, another good subreddit to spread the existence of this site to would probably be r/ChapoTrapHouse. Even getting a small community here would be nice, I like the atmosphere that forums have and am honestly getting a little tired of the constant shitposting and lower levels of discussion often found on imageboards.

I would rather invite r/stupidpol first than ChapoTrapHouse. trust me r/CTH is not what you think it is and it's nothing like the podcast.
I'd rather expand to the more idpol socialist sites after we spread the link to the non-idpol areas first, that way they are competing with an already established subculture/community when they push their "microaggression" bullshit.

Producing socialist content and sharing it would be a good way to go. That way they have more of a reason to come here, from hearing it from a booklet or something similar, it's also not directly in their face as well.

A really big concern is if the site has a mobile version, google underplays websites without a mobile version and that will isolate us.
But beside that we could go to other leftist fora like revleft or soviet empire and if we're extreme enough to go to reddit lets limit ourselves to r/stupidpol.

Might be a good idea to drop links under youtube videos as well as contacting leftist youtubers who can direct traffic our way.

it has a mobile styling at least (checked from my phone). how does the search engine determine if there's a mobile version? does it just need a mobile domain (like m.leftist.site)?

I second trying to shill it on r/stupidpol. It's full of anti-idpol leftists who are focused on actual economic concern that are probably the type of people you want here.

I posted it there but the moderators deleted it because it was not related, and they directed me to r/leftwithoutedge, which deleted the post as well.

This is why I think we need to make a zine or pamphlet or something discussing it and have a reference to the site itself, that way it doesn't look like spam.

If it has a mobile version then there is no problem.
Maybe we could ape on /leftypol/'s brand but beside that I have no idea of what to do
